I am Yahia Shukeir, a Jordanian journalist and media law expert. I earned my Master’s Degree in Law with Distinction in 2012, following a BA in Journalism in 1984. I authored several books on media laws and freedom of expression besides training with many local and international NGOS. I am currently a lecturer at the Media Faculty at Middle East University. I was a consultant to the Kuwaiti Ministry of Information from October 2017 to November 2018 and I have 35 years of experience in journalism. I have also been a speaker in many international and regional events.
I attended the Safeguarding Freedom in a Digital World seminar from 13-25 October 2019 in Gummersbach and have a long list of benefits such as, but not limited to:
- Net working with participants from different countries. We still communicate through a WhatsApp group even after the termination of the course.
- I learned a lot from the course such as cyber security, digitalization, freedom of expression and privacy.
- We have met some German officials and visited Berlin and Cologne.
