Dirk Kunze holds a Master’s degree in political science from the Free University Berlin, Germany. He worked many years for the German Bundestag (Parliament) in Bonn and subsequently in Berlin. He also researched on and at parliaments worldwide and published on parliamentary traditions. From 2009 to 2012 he was seconded by the Parliamentary Group of the Free Democratic Party (FDP) to Brussels, Belgium to liaise with the European Union. From 2012 to 2019 he lived and worked in Cairo, Egypt and Beirut, Lebanon where he reviewed and communicated on current political developments in the MENA region. Since summer 2019 he heads the FNF Regional Office for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) in Amman, Jordan.
Prior to joining the team at FNF, Shayar worked at US AID - the US Agency for International Development in Building Economic Sustainability through Tourism projects. She graduated with honors from the American University in Madaba with a degree in Banking and Finance. Her passion for Human Rights inspired her to pursue a career with the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom.
Hend graduated with a degree in English literature from Cairo University. She moved to Amman in January 2017, where she served as the Regional Communication Officer for almost 3 years, before becoming the Project Coordinator for Jordan and Egypt. Before joining the Foundation, Hend also served as the Communication and Outreach Officer at the Egyptian Center for Public Policy Studies for 3 years. On account of her passion for politics and liberalism, she joined the Free Egyptians Party where she was a member of its youth wing and coordinator for specialized committees from 2014 till 2016. Between 2015 and 2016, she was an IFLRY member of the pool of trainers.
Yara graduated from the University of Jordan majoring in political science and joined the team at FNF to fulfill her passion for politics. She believes that working in a place that supports civic and political education is an opportunity for her truly be a part of the change she wants to see in Jordan.
Shahira has been working at FNF Amman for many years and belongs to the world of finance where money is just an instrument that speaks its own language. Shahira studied in the "Schwabenland" at Stuttgart University and holds a Master of Science degree in Finance, Planning and Logistics. She believes that education is a style of living that never stops and aspires to achieve personal growth together with the FNF Team, in order to make a difference in the Jordanian political scene.
